Hello, I'm James
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Reading, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of my life abroad.
Origins of the Move
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in the master plan. Like many international relocations, it started with a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The first months were demanding — adapting to new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Tidy Willow Zone
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United Kingdom.
What this Website Provides (And What It Doesn't)
This site OFFERS:
- Hands-on insights from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site DOES NOT INCLUDE:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel diary
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Reading or anywhere in United Kingdom, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
James
